Mr. Triplett spent 12 years behind bars as a four-time felon under Louisiana's habitual offender law. His cocaine posession conviction was overturned in late September 2011 after a ruling that former District Attorney Harry Connick's office failed to turn over a police report that contradicted the trial testimony of NOPD officers.
