IPNO relies on our interns and volunteers. To apply, please read below.
Internships
IPNO welcomes applications from law students and undergraduates from across the U.S. and abroad. While IPNO provides legal representation to prisoners, a large part of any internship will involve investigative work on individual cases. Both law students and undergraduate interns should expect to spend a significant portion of their time at IPNO doing case investigation.
For year-round or semester-long internships or externships, please send a cover letter, resume, a non-legal writing sample if possible and 2-3 references to Richard Davis - richardd@ip-no.org - with "school year internship" in the subject line. Be sure to provide the dates for which you would like to complete an internship and the number of hours per week you would are available to work. Tulane, Loyola, Southern, LSU and Mississippi College of Law students are encouraged to inquire with their schools about externships for credit.
IPNO also accepts internship requests from students interested in supporting our policy and communications work. Please send a cover letter, resume, a non-legal writing sample if possible and 2-3 references to Jené O'Keefe Trigg -jeneot@ip-no.org.
NO CALLS PLEASE.
Co-Counsel
IPNO's case successes would not be possible without the countless hours put in by pro bono co-counsel. If you are a lawyer and you or your firm would like to co-counsel a case with IPNO, please send an e-mail explaining your interest to Emily Maw - emilym@ip-no.org. Further information can be found here.
Volunteer Work
We get numerous offers from people to volunteer but unfortunately have a limited capacity to accommodate volunteers as the demands of our casework mean that we are generally looking for people with a very specific skill set.
If you feel you bring a particularly useful skill to IPNO and are interested in volunteering, please e-mail Jené O'Keefe Trigg - jeneot@ip-no.org with a short note explaining how you think you might help, along with your resume.
